The software company itdesign from Tübingen achieves seventh place in the category 101 to 250 employees in the Great Place to Work competition “Germany’s Best Employers 2020”. This was announced by the Great Place to Work Institute Germany. Companies that offer their employees a particularly attractive corporate culture were awarded.
“For us, this outstanding result is a confirmation of our shared values. We all believe in cooperation and togetherness. Together we want to achieve something for our customers worldwide. I feel this every day at itdesign,” reports Dr. Christoph Hirnle, member of the itdesign management board, who accepted the award in Berlin on Wednesday. Hirnle is particularly pleased with the development compared to the last survey in 2018: “After the last GPTW award in 2018, we have identified some areas in which we can become even better – like our working time scheme and health care, for example. We have been working on these topics and this time we have also achieved top marks there”.
The basis for the evaluation was a detailed anonymous survey of employees on key workplace issues such as trust in managers, quality of cooperation, appreciation, identification with the company, career development opportunities, remuneration and work-life balance. In addition, the management was asked about promotional measures and benefits in the company. The results of the two internationally proven survey instruments (Employee Survey and Culture Audit) were weighted at a ratio of 2:1; the focus is therefore on the evaluation of employees. Companies of all sizes and from all sectors took part in the Great Place to Work umbrella competition “Germany’s Best Employers 2020” nationwide. They submitted to a voluntary review of the quality and attractiveness of their workplace culture by the independent Great Place to Work Institute and the assessment of their own employees. The list of the best employers was determined from the overall field of participants, differentiated according to company size.
“The award stands for a workplace culture that is highly characterized by trust, pride and team spirit,” says Frank Hauser, Managing Director of the German Great Place to Work Institute. “Attractive working conditions and a supportive culture of cooperation are a central key to economic success and the mastering of important future tasks.”
