itdesign Helps Seniors Navigate the Digital World

What exactly is that AI chat in WhatsApp? Should I use it – and if so, what for? These and many other questions brought around fifty older adults to the second Senior Support Afternoon hosted by itdesign GmbH. On Sunday, June 14, the Tübingen-based software company invited guests for coffee and traditional sweet yeast cake.

Fifteen employees volunteered their time to support visitors, answering questions about app usage and password security, solving technical issues with tablets and smartphones, and providing guidance on navigating the digital world. While itdesign GmbH is primarily a provider of business software, the company aims to make its IT expertise available to the wider local community through this initiative.

This time, additional support was provided by the Youth Council of the German-American Institute (d.a.i.), which also sent a group of volunteers to assist at the event. The demand is high: older adults in particular often find it challenging to keep up with the rapidly changing digital landscape. To round off the program, participants were also offered short presentations on internet security and artificial intelligence.

A follow-up event at itdesign is planned for the autumn.
